It was 18 years ago that Rachel went off to explore South East Asia with a fellow traveler where she also ended up exploring her own passion for creating beautiful things. When she arrived in Bangkok her traveling companion gave Rachel a beautiful antique Miao silver bangle bracelet and set something in motion that was to change Rachel forever.
Talking about what the gift meant to her she said, " It has inspired me and even become an extension of me. Above all it awakened my passion for jewelry and made me want to explore the art of jewelry making and everything about the jewelry world."
Fascinated by the exciting and colorful markets of South East Asia Rachel set about learning the art of silversmithing at the Nova Gallery in Chiang Mai. She served an apprenticeship under the watchful eye of Nagoon where she developed a bohemian, elegant, confident style creating designs of lasting beauty from mainly organic natural stones. " I am driven by my passion to explore and inspired by my exposure to different cultures and their variety of styles and materials."
